Editing
(First off, I need to say that I am in the process of totally redoing my PC Recording site, so some of this info is a little out dated. One thing in particular is with the editor I use, Audacity. They have a new version out with tons of new features, as well as different ways of doing things. I hope to get this all updated soon. Thank you.)
Once you've gotten some tracks recorded, it's time to edit them. To do this, you will need an audio editor. There are several different programs that you can use for this. Sonic Foundry has an audio editor called Sound Forge. I know a lot of people who highly recommend this program, but I have yet to really use it as it's a paid program, and I just don't have the money to spend on it right now. Besides, the audio editor I use is free, and works just fine for me.
The editor I will be talking about is called " Audacity". As I said, it's a free program you can download with full functionality, and does not time out (meaning it wont stop working after a certain period of time). Here is a screenshot:

***IMPORTANT***
Before editing any given audio track, be sure to create a copy and place it in a safe location. That way, if you screw something up, you'll still have a back up copy. With Audacity, it will not let you overwrite any file currently in use with itself, but I don't know how other audio editors work.
